How much does it cost to make a gallon of distilled water using a Waterwise water distiller?

Based on a national average electric cost of 8 cents per kilowatt hour, it costs approximately 25 cents per gallon.

What are the Model 4000 & 9000 collector bottles made of?

Collector/storage bottles for the Model 4000 are made from Glass, while (there's still available bottles for Model 4000 &) bottles for model 9000 are made from GE Lexan® polycarbonate.

How many gallons of distilled water do the Waterwise Distillers make in one day and how long does it take?

The New 4000 Countertop distiller provides enough water for up to 4 people, producing a 1 gallon batch in just 4 hours or up to 6 gallons in 24 hours!

The Model 9000 distiller provides enough water for up to 4 people, producing a 1 gallon batch in 4.5 hours.

For families of 3 or more, the Model 7000 high output distiller produces up to 9 gallons in 24 hours.

Does the waterwise water distiller leave the "good" minerals in the water?

There are no "good" minerals existing in the water...only inorganic minerals that the human body cannot process, and the distiller does remove these as well.

When I open my distiller after running a cycle it has a funny smell...is this normal?

Yes...The smell is the residue of the contaminants that the distiller has removed from the water...that you used to ingest in your tap water!

How often do I need to change my post carbon filters?

Model 4000 - Average once every six to eight weeks
Model 7000 - Average once every three months
Model 9000 - Average once every three months

How often do I need to clean my distiller?

Everyone's water has different levels of contaminants...but on the average, clean your boiler about once a month using the Kleenwise Descaler.

How do you clean the water distiller with Kleenwise Descaler?

1. Empty your distiller boiler of water and residue.
2. In a quart container, add 2 to 3 tablespoons of Kleenwise.
3. Fill container half way with warm tap water and stir to fully dissolve.
4. Pour this solution into distiller boiler.
5. Add enough warm water to cover any scale and mineral deposits.
6. Let stand several hours or until scale softens.
7. Empty boiler and rinse thoroughly.

NEVER operate your distiller while using Kleenwise.

Do your Waterwise water pumps for remote faucets work on any distiller?

The WaterWise water pumps are custom designed to work on Waterwise 7000 units only!

What are the power requirements for your distillers? Will I be able to use them overseas?

The Model 4000 Distiller is available in both Domestic 120VAC/60Hz 800W and International 240VAC/50Hz 800W.

The Model 9000 Distiller is available in both Domestic 120VAC/60Hz 750W and International 230VAC/50Hz 750W.

7000 Series Water Distillers are available in both Domestic 120VAC/60Hz 1200W and International 240VAC/50Hz 1200W.
